Samsung Notes on Windows

You have it on your phone, You want it also on your PC.
How?

Go to the microsoft website
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/samsung-notes/9nblggh43vhv
Login with the same Microsoft account as on your PC.
Now GET and go to Microsoft Store App on your PC…. Install.
Done!

And if it does not work… read this:
– Download the appx
– Run the update on Microsoft Store!
– Sign into the Samsung cloud (same as your phone)
…and see your notes appear

.htaccess to enforce https without www.

If not using WordPress you may need to create your own .htaccess file for this.
So how do you forward?

Create a new .htaccess file and enter the following content:

Reboot and keep hitting ESC, F2, F8, F10 or whatever the computer requires… But, there is another way, which I found out trying this for an old ASUS Transformer T100.
According to Asus: Press and hold the F2 button, then click the power button. DO NOT RELEASE the F2 button until the BIOS screen display.

Of course this does not work, why else would I write about it?

Thunderbird Unified Folders

Another issue …. suddenly the unified folders view was not showing the e-mails anymore from one of my e-mail accounts. Solution? Delete some files and force Thunderbird to recreate it’s unified folders cache.

Word 2019 Save as PDF shows ‘title’, not ‘filename’

Using a new (to me) version of Word 2019 brings new challenges.
I create invoices in Microsoft Word and save them as a PDF file to send by e-mail. In Acrobat it started showing the Word document property for document title, and no longer the filename, like I was used to in Word 2013.

The answer is a simple option… you just have to know where to find it:

Reset the Excel Worksheet “Last” Cell

You can tell when the “used range” excel is using is too big and is going to add extra blank rows when you use the scroll bar to the right and it goes beyond the last row of actual data when you scroll to the bottom. Terrible when trying to print your data. I’ve found something, and corrected the procedure, so it consistently works to delete those blank rows.
