ABOUT SENDING EMAIL
The IMAP mail protocol is preferred over POP mail nowadays. IMAP is a more recent protocol. When using IMAP, the contents or your email boxes will be synchronized and are therefore the same on all your devices and on your provider’s mail server. So if you delete a message, it is really gone everywhere.
Help me! I can’t send emails anymore! Tip for the outgoing mail server settings on mobile devices.
On a tablet or laptop which you also use when you are away from home, it is best to use the outgoing email server settings or your mobile provider, your email hoster or Google’s for your email accounts. Google’s will work practically anywhere. Reason for this is that the outgoing server settings or you ‘home-provider’ will not work when you’re not at home! To use Google’s outgoing mailserver, you need to have a Google account of course.
Here’s an example or a different situation: Someone has a @kpnmail email account but no longer a KPN cell phone plan, but a Vodafone cell phone plan. KPN’s smtp server for kpnmail.nl won’t work (anymore). Emails can no longer be sent using the cell phone. By using the Vodafone or Google outgoing mailserver settings you will be able to send emails from your cell phone again.
What is SSL?
SSL is a protocol which will encrypt your data while sending and receiving it. If you want to use SSL-encryption, your service provider needs to support it.

Turn SMTP-verification in and use your My Vodafone user name and password.
Attention: Your user name and your password are (almost) identical to those of your MyVodafone account, which you will also need. If you don’t have a MyVodafone account, you have to register first on the Vodafone websiteto be able to use thier outgoing mail server.
In the Outgoing mail server settings fill out ‘mail0612345678′ plus your MyVodafone password. In one of theVodafone instructions the word ‘mail’ was/is accidentally left out.
